MacDonnell Ranges Light Show

Back to Signature Installations

The Ebb and Flow of Sky and Country

Prepare to be amazed as 2km of the majestic MacDonnell Ranges are illuminated with spectacular lighting effects that reflect the colours and movement of the changing seasons.

The light show is accompanied by a dynamic soundscape and narration by AGB Events First Nations Adviser Rhoda Roberts AO and Traditional owner Benedict Kngwarraye Stevens.

It is an emotional experience, a spiritual journey that showcases and lights up the world’s oldest living culture in new and extraordinary ways. Dive deeper into the stories of Arrernte Country and be mesmerised by what you see and hear.

Everything is connected and it is important to know and feel Country, to understand the seasons and the knowledge that sustain Country. Knowing when to hunt, feast and celebrate is all determined by the ebb and flow of the seasonal cycles.

Please note: The MacDonnell Ranges light show is best viewed from 7pm at the earliest due to the levels of daylight.
